tell me your a woman without telling me your a woman. Murder mysteries are mostly good based on logical deductions and case solving. When it comes to the character part the most important part is how the relatives/friends of the victims react which danganronpa does a poor to decent job at.
Murderer motives are good but generally you only know the murderers motive for sure when they are caught so less screen time = less valuable.
