You need to regularly perform purges on your audiences with small controversial things so that the ones who would throw a shitfit never gather large enough numbers. If they are a small % of your audience, then anything they get mad over will have other people telling them to fucking leave if they don't like it.

You should not be in a position where you fear your audience. That's basically a sword of damocles over your head if you get there.

I have a friend who quite brazenly talks about sam hyde and other schizo shit and he's doing well for himself, and another friend who oopsie woopsie cultivated an audience of sensitive babies and now is stalled out because he is afraid of growing past his current numbers because he doesn't want to fuck up and get burned.
Me myself, I'm worse than both but I make it abundantly clear that I'm not a conformist retard. I draw completely irreverant shit every now and then, shitpost in places where I may be seen but which aren't my ART locales, and I don't give a fuck about half of the twitter controversies to the point my response to many of them is either "this isn't worth getting mad over, you don't understand how XYZ works at a fundamental level if you get upset over this because it's not new" or picrel.

I even tell people that I like 4chan and try to be as morally and ethically consistent as I can be, which is a really good filter.

All that and I still have plenty of people who are like "PLEASE I WANT TO COMMISSION YOU"
