It's likely the problem is that baseball is quite possibly the hardest sport there is. And he didn't play baseball growing up so he doesn't have the skills and knowledge to keep up. Whereas the rest of the team probably played highschool ball and have 10+ years of experience playing as a kid. He also is clearly very skinny and physically frail. So not only does he lack skill, he's weak and slow.

The other guys don't want to babysit him and teach him the fundamentals of baseball everyone else learned when they were 6.
