I like her and the focus the manga gives to her. Admittedly, I'm not sure if it would have worked as well in the anime because half the joy I got out of it was the mystery. I watched the episodes and fought the urge to skip them until I reached parts that detailed Misaki's past or gave a hint about her family and her desires.
