Interesting connection. Huh, all I can say that comes to mind is that an 8 is like a bicycle. So if 0 symbolizes both nothing and infinity (void) then it's like two bicycles, bilocation, shadow / mirror worlds, above and below.

The way the symbol morphs into an 8 when it comes out of the bell kettle thing in season 3 as well.

8 is 2 cubed. 19 is the 8th prime. BOB=2+15+2=19. Pythagorean, 2+6+2=10. 10 fingers.

On another occasion though (Booker DeWitt from Bioshock's badge number, 727) it turns out to be an encoding based on the meaning of the Hebrew letters. 262 is Palindromic, 2 is Bet, a dwelling, an enclosure, a house. 6 is vav/waw, a peg, hook, nail. 2 dwellings connected by a nail or hook? Eh, sometimes you find these encodings.
