Yes. That is, if Denji even genuinely wants to live in peace. So far he doesn't.
But Fujimoto did say that a story like CSM must end with the hero quitting. P2 is all about setting the stage for that to happen, from what it seems, which is why it's so punishing on Denji for being CSM while in P1 he was mainly rewarded for it.
