This idea was almost novel until the story shifted gears and invented an entire new form of time travel involving sending your thoughts back into the past, that plays by entirely different rules. And this new form of time travel exists SOLELY to trap the MC into a time loop cliche so that the plot can start happening.
Like seriously why does this part of the story even exist?
