Adding to what the other anons said, if you want an automated solution there's autoeq.app and peqdb.com. Autoeq auto generates a harman preset based on a measurement of the headphone and has bass and treble sliders. But since the preset is generated anew each time results may vary. Peqdb gives you a slider and you adjust the sound until it sounds the way you like and generates an eq preset based on your preferences later. If you don't want to eq by hand these are fine but sometimes the auto generated eq presets are kind of shit. But it's good for generating presets for headphones that have no ready man made presets yet.

Mostly psychobabble but R2R chips create additional distortion and also roll off the sound over 10k. Tube amps are kind of similar since they distort sound too which makes the sound seem "warmer". These are the only real exceptions, though. Most DACs are fully transparent and a more expensive model won't give any sound improvements.
