To be fair, I don't think the issues that plague TDOTL are the same that plague the stallion movies post Hearth's Warming. The latter have fundamental problems, like Tamers trying to hard to force shitty OCs onto the audience and their comedy-to-drama ratio being completely skewed. In comparison, TDOTL feels mostly accidental in its shittyness, if that makes any sense.
