>But we don't have a full understanding of this adversarial mechanism
It's like a black hole, it's very hard to pinpoint because it can be only observed through overlapping patterns, trends and circumstantial evidence. I wouldn't say that I'm adamant, but I'm starting to think that my chromosomal arrangement theory has some validity to it and there is a train of thought starting to emerge to explain it.
If I had to describe it in a few words, I think it's the inherent mammalian, alloimmunogically inspired resentment of the male compressed into an egregore, or more like a superorganism, by population density and easy access to communication. The externalized immune system. I think that's your adversarial system, it's almost too good to be true because it explains everything, the compulsory partner disposal process, the collective action, the extreme in-group bias, basically everything and it can be clearly observed in nature as I have explained in the wall of text. It can be reduced to a very simple recurring pattern.
It's millions of years of female immune systems recognizing the Y chromosome as a foreign object and cytokines repeatedly translating that event to brain states. Their brains just evolved to sense the Y chromosome, male pregnancy and it's product as something foreign that doesn't exist in their bodies.
It also explains men's neutrality, why they are far more likely to just let go of themselves and chill in relationships, they don't seek a way out, they don't feel trapped. What they feel is "finally", while women feel "am I stuck here forever?". That's not just hypergamy, it's their body trying to remove a splinter or a virus, only it happens externally.
Lots of assumptions, plenty of gaps to be filled, plenty of studies that will never be done due to the political nature of the subject, but it does fit, almost perfectly.
