To add this, and for anyone interested in a minions/alien build, in Manufacturing West you will find a subregion called the Encroachment, full of worms. If you kill the giant one that roams there running around you will obtain the gemstone it has on its head, with it your pets and the minion that anon mentioned will get buffed by A LOT, it one taps some late game enemies
In Reactors the radiactive plant on the left has some cute bullsquid looking dudes, you can tame them like pests and unlike them you can carry in your inventory, and with an upgrade you can use them as a weapon like the Spore Launcher in Opposing Force.
They also get affected by that gemstone, they pack a punch with it and get tanky. You can build a pocket army with those
