If he ever appears in Deltarune, I really do hope we meet Papyrus at his most lonesome. Maybe not with the amount of self-loathing on display in the comic (it's enjoyable in fanworks but a tad too on the nose for the game, imho), but little hints of doubt poking through his sunny demeanor would fit the tone of Deltarune's setting. And it'd be nice to befriend him, if he allowed us. Hopefully he wouldn't think we're only being friendly out of pity or because Sans put us up to it.
