>reflexively yell “HEY!”
>pull up long johns with onr hand and scramble in pocket for gp100
>back up against a tree head and light darting everywhere
>sprint back to camp
>gf asks what happened
>tell her mountain lion nearly ambushed me
>she says something like “yeah right, you’re trying to freak me out, mountain lions aren’t this high this time of year, they’re in the valleys packing in the calories before winter”
>I say I’ll show her in the morning
>show everyone my gargantuan doo
>big paw tracks about 20ft from poo
>follow them about 100 yards. The cat had actually approached me from the front and circled behind me. Mustve scared it away because it left tracks going back down the basin
I bet a lot of those missing 411 cases are people ambushed by mountain lion or hobos.
