Its called msu1 sound, it sounds so much better, like real midi like it was made on a ps1. You should look into it, snes9x uses it and it makes the game sound nicer, but ive only gotten to the title screen, I bet the rest of the game sounds better as well. Not sure if playing the 2nd earthbound game is okay, as in I can skip the first one and still enjoy it.
