It does have a lot of big brain. Protagonist had an autistic knowledge of the original story and of engineering overall, so his plans almost never fail. Even when things don't work out the way he expected, he still benefits from them, and overall even while he's being greedy, he benefits everyone around him and he's loved despite his quirks. In competence he's a Gary Stu. What keeps him from being obnoxious is the way he's occasionally the butt of jokes, like how the queen keeps forcing him to work much to his annoyance, and even then, the story would benefit more from not worshiping him as much. The comedy carries hard imo.

There is an amusing inversion if anything, the original protagonist shit on isekai guy initially (Like pic related) because the original character before the isekai was a complete piece of shit, so the original protagonist did not have the patience to deal with him at all initially.
