>the thing is that the series as a whole is very small scale when it comes to stories
>the thing is that the series as a whole is very small scale when it comes to stories
I frankly don't understand this notion. 3H characters talk a lot, but they do so little. The entire first half of the game is just fucking around in the monastery and attending galas and sparring matches, before it speedruns the post-timeskip. Like, Claude in AM literally just gives up his kingdom to go backpacking, after we meet up with him for the first time in over 5 years. SILLINESS. Trivial writing.
Have people played Tellius? Jugdral, even? Shit is so much more dense and efficient in those games despite the smaller script, and the size of Tellius's script isn't something to turn your nose up in the first place.
I swear people have invented this myth of 3H prodigiousness to justify it. But a lot of it's hot air, supports about ghosts and baking cakes. It's kind of like a regular Fire Emblem game only with a shitton of background lore and last names to make you think the setting is lived-in, with a story spread like thin cheese on a stale cracker. It's...fine? But a leap forward?
