But, I'll use this opportunity to say that Touhou in general is far from dying on the fandom side. It's more accurate to say that the english speaking fandom is stagnating.
Barely anybody scanlates anymore. Hell, barely anybody SCANS anymore. The only person actively translating fangames is Hackanai. It's a christmas miracle that Gensou Shoujo Taisen Complete Box translated has been announced, and only because the fans from years and years started doing it and the current translators just picked up the pieces. English fandom is so huffed up on drama and negativity they just try to inject it everywhere they go.
So really I think it's more of a one side of the fandom issue more than anything else.
