>Everything feels meaningless, I've made two armor sets during the entirety of sunbreak and they carried me all the way to primordial malzeno
Why are you acting as though no other MH does this and is only exclusive to Rise? Even in older games like TriU and 4U I used early G Rank full sets to carry me to end game no problems. The only reason you'd make more armor than you need are for very specific builds or to look cool.

Rise/Sunbreak is the most fun I've had in a 'modern style' Monster Hunter. Combat flows good, traversing the environment is great, Palamute are way better than World's Tailriders and managed to be superior to Sekriet in every singe way. Then there's the things World and Wilds did away with, like having more than one cat, full customization over your cats, all the skills, being able to buy decorations instead of that RNG bullshit, charms being easy to obtain via melding, all the weapons and armor that can be unlocked via side missions instead of waiting for half assed event quests to come into rotation. It's a Monster Hunter Portable entry through and through, which of course it is because that's exactly what the B team does.

In general the Portable entries are the last bastion of making Monster Hunter fun and not cinematic, walking segment drivel. Which is fine by me because I prefer those entries over their 'numbered' counterparts every time because they get to the point unlike games like Tri, 4, and World. I want to go out and kill things, not be forced to listen to some overseas company's bad save the environment PR.

>I have less than a hundred hours in this game, whereas in the older games I could easily rack in multiple hundreds of hours
That sounds like a you problem. I have over 900 hours in one play through alone, then add in the two other characters I made and that time increases to over 1200 hours.
