You couldn't have "Day 1 DLC", that "should be in the game!". So the solution is to just finish it the same time as the game and wait a few months. This also ties into "game pricing" proper. $80 for a game is ridiculous... But you ask me for $60 and then hold back $20 or so for later? Now were talking!
You can't put your DLC on a disc, you need to waste bandwidth and lock it to a server that can close forever, because "I bought the disc I should have everything!". So that's what you do just put on the server instead and render it forever gone when they close. Gamers won!
