>Legit question - do they track your ammo?
Yes, they do. I'm issued 50 rounds that I can't use unless I need to defend myself or am on duty. Usage must be justified and registered. Each of my rounds has a batch number printed on it and is registered under my name. The barrel of my gun is also registered, and the records are kept by the forensic police. That means, through the rifling marks, they can determine if a bullet was fired from my gun, even if the bullet isn’t intact.

>Can you just buy a box of ammo privately for cash after showing your Polícias Militares identification?
No, only if I have a CAC registration, which I intend to get in the future. Then I can buy about 200 rounds per month, I think. There are different levels. CAC means "Collectors, Shooters, and Hunters."

>Take every opportunity to practice and clean/maintain your Beretta well, banana-fren.
I usually perform maintenance frequently, especially after shooting.
