Season one only works because of the concept, the cast, and the cinematography. That’s just the surface. The actual writing is hollow. The story goes nowhere. It’s grief porn stretched into a show with no real arc or purpose.

The characters aren’t even characters. They’re just weird metaphors that barely act like people. Nobody behaves like a human being, they just wander around acting moody so reddit can call it deep.

Season two turns into self-indulgent, smug, artsy bullshit. Total tonal shift, annoying as hell, thinks it’s profound but it’s literally nonsense. Season three is full-on parody of itself. It doesn’t even try anymore. They knew they had nothing left.

The music is corny. Fake emotional piano loops that are there to tell brain-dead viewers when to feel sad. It’s manipulative and lazy.

You’re just mad because I didn’t cry when the sad priest lost his dog. That’s the level you’re on. You think confusing and depressing equals good. You think Margaret Qualley acting like a feral raccoon makes her interesting. You think trauma = plot.

It’s not that deep. It’s just bad television pretending to be meaningful.
