Sorry, this comment came to mind when you mentioned the poorer collectors.

I'm sure the barely interested collectors are the fringe ones that gravitate only when the franchise is relevant so they can get in on the hype. Once another Transformers or Marvel movie comes out, they jump on that train and complain that their wants aren't being met.

Star Wars has something for everyone though so you can get an Epic Series $7 fig or a $300 Hot Toys doll.
