I think this has been mostly forgotten at this point but something that never really sat right with me was how the manga 99% of the time avoided straying too deep into the supernatural (save for minor quips like Ymir which was played as a gag anyway) and most visions, illusions etc. were usually portrayed as folklore and superstition or the characters' psyche being severely impacted
...Except when one of the Lnu shamans smokes some crack in a tent and has a real vision of 1000 years into the real future and it became an actual plot point
