It COULD be the same character, if we were adequately shown his descent. You can infer it all you want, but it's not compelling that way. I can absolutely believe Miquella betting it all in the Haligtree, and then when it was eaten from the inside-out by Malenia, and when he woke up in the Land of Shadow, he probably screamed his head off because everything he does goes wrong. But this is ENTIRELY marred by, apparently, Miquella's 4D chess plan to have always used Radahn due to a vow they made when they were younger. It's ridiculous.
