>What happened to camera ergonomics?
They got OSHA'd into blobs before you even started complaining. No one needed a grip at all and then cameras got the OSHA treatment so arthritic fucks and women could handhold 70-200s more comfortably.
>BUT I NEED MY PINKY WRAPPED AROUND A SOFT RUBBER GRIP
It doesn't make a difference unless you have arthritis
The general rule of the actual "workplace safety" sort of ergonomics (not the applefaggot workflow intuitiveness bla bla bla ergonomics) is grip area is a replacement for grip strength. More friction, less need to exert yourself, less RSI or less aggravation of existing health issues. An arthritic man would struggle to handle a nikon fm3a for more than an hour but would have no problems with a DSLR.
I hope mirrorless cameras eventually do away with grips entirely. I am not an arthritic man who has to hold a telezoom up for 4 hours straight as part of his job. Cameras should be made for more than just people "at work" (sports/news coverage fags and the like).
