I was the other anon pointing out the minor revisions, but I kinda agree with the people upset the price has jumped. A revision on a high selling vehicle just a couple years on stuff that generally doesn't matter is a pretty obvious ploy to raise the price substantially
>transmission upgrade
stronger is better but there wasn't anything wrong with the other one
>bigger screen
That was actually reasonable but shouldn't contribute much to the cost. The cubby next to the 8" screen is dumb
>5g modem
For fucking what? Everyone has a cell phone, I don't want one in the car
>digital gauge cluster
If it means another screen to eliminate physical needles to save a couple bucks, that shouldn't increase the price but NPCs like them so designers are using them
I see it from both ends: Ford did a minor revision that added maybe $1500 in BOM, zero to assembly labor, and the price increased $9000. Plus more common trim items just got bundled into the "base" model. It really was a $20k truck and simply isn't anymore. If it were $25k starting I think people would be less upset as a $5k increase over 4-5 years is easier to swallow than a $10k increase. Entice buyers with a $25k spartan truck, have the dealership sell them on the $38k up-trim truck.
