I don't have any pre-prepared proof for this, but I think it's dependent on if Sunny's in the frame. He's malnourished and underdeveloped from living like a corpse for 4 years during critical growth ages, not to mention he's the game admitted baby of the group. So everyone else except Basil should be significantly taller than him. I like to call this unproven and non-evidence backed theory the snuuy effect. Put Sunny next to Aubrey in fanart and she's likely to be quite a bit taller. Put Aubrey next to Kel, and she's likely to be closer to her actual height which is around Sunny's height.
