A Sonic comic series structured round-robin style, like the "DC Challenge", could be fun and would reflect the aspirationally windy nature of the series well; but that would require a lot of trust from Sega to the creatives involved and I don't think Sega is willing to do that yet as shown by the 900th Adventure issue IDW put out a while ago
