No they weren't fun. That's the fucking point.
Remember when Steven almost got trapped alone in space? Remember when he was beaten to unconsciousness and imprisoned? In one of the episodes Steven literally died so that an alternate timeline version of him could go on.

That shit is not normal. Steven accepting that as being normal is why he's so agitated. Because nothing in normal lives compares to the shit that he's gone through. He can't relate to anyone. Normal days don't feel like anything special. He's been constantly on edge for at least 3/4ths of his life. Steven doesn't even realize he's not normal until he's told.

God I know people like to shit on Steven Universe Future but the epilogue is exploring a character after happily ever after. When your whole identity is made up of solving other peoples' problems and fixing a universe because of your cowardly mother, where do you go from there?

Steven doesn't have that answer and everyone is so used to him being the one to solve everything so they don't have the right answers and give him really shitty advice. But Steven being so impressionable since he was a child is the thing that caused his childish outlook and is now causing him his main conflict.

That's the point of the entire epilogue.
That's the POINT. No one can TELL Steven where to go next. That's his decision. Everyone else is FUCKING WRONG.
