They're either bitter about their own efforts not panning out and think AI will help them succeed where they failed, shills who are basically trying to cover for any huge fallouts or setbacks in the budding industry, or far more likely they're just trolls who know how much people are already pissed and annoyed at the never-ending image spam and use AI threads as an excuse to stoke the fires more. Though the idea that artists and animators will be "replaced" is already presumptuous, as only those companies that are scrooge mcduck levels of penny pinching misers would ever delude themselves into thinking that AI will just keep printing out pictures for free forever. It's far more likely that higher-end artists will still be on call for people who are very particular about what they want, while other artists will just find ways to adapt the AI to work for them and have their own training to help them fix any flaws that end up made by the AI creation.

Basically, there's nothing to gain but their perceived amusement that other people are annoyed by their constant chants of "you will be replaced". Doesn't matter if it's true or not, it only matters to them that someone is upset by the idea.
