I've had similar thoughts to the former myself
Mostly just that I think there should be a /vn/ - vidya/new similar to /vr/. For upcoming games or ones less than 6 months old or so. Real simple, general solution to affording more games more space without getting pushed out by spam about newest AAA/FOTM/controversy.
Better than whatever they were thinking with /vrpg/ and /vst/ anyway. Or the complete misuse of /vmg/. /vm/ is a good boy though even if I don't use it.
