Automation can't replace all the hands-on, physically demanding jobs overnight, and boosting birth rates is a long-term game that takes decades to impact the workforce. Meanwhile, the economy needs workers now, and that gap has to be filled somehow.

So yes, many Brits voted against immigration, but the reality is the government has to manage immediate labor shortages and keep essential services running.
