That is a slightly more advanced phase of a button masher. They are good enough to do moves, and usually do the move they are attempting to do, but have no real strategy, or mind of headgames yet. So they just rushdown non-stop. It can be overwhelming, but just play a very defensive game, and punish their inevitable wiffs.
Only way for them to slow down is for you to force them to slow down.
