Improving their drawing skills isn't about drawing things over and over, it's literally about improving their reference sheets. They will progressively make aesthetic improvements to their character sheets and then use that reference for their new drawings.
I'm explaining to you that the process of improvement (where one draws constantly) has been greatly misguided. It's not about the volume of your drawings. It's about creating and improving on reference material and then utilizing that for later use.
