That's not how evolution works. It's about passing on what works, not what's optimal. If the majority of human men go bald at some point in their lives, that simply proves that baldness isn't a significant detriment to either survival or reproduction - though it certainly isn't a help either. This in contrast to how men keep getting taller and taller. Women do as well, but the rate at which men get taller is higher.
