Yeah, memes aside (and checked), it's complicated. If "depression" was only the result of a serotonin deficiency then SSRIs would have cured it long ago and we wouldn't even be talking about it. But some people clearly do have mood disorders and neurochemical problems (like our favorite namedfag).
