Lived in Japan for 1.5 years. And yes this myth is actually true.

I'm always incredibly impressed by Japanese dudes who could tell when someone was old. And I'm like

どうやって年わかるの?
手とか服の感じとか、顔のシワでわかるよ。

So yeah unless you look at the hands, overall スタイル"feeling" of a person and are really good at noticing wrinkles and shit they're amazing.

My problem with Japan compared to my Eastern European country was girls had way less curvy hourglass profiles and most of all. The average Japanese girl is simply ugly. The good looking ones are amazing but there tons of sumo faced weird ass women.
