Who stays is a decent question
Emi and Shizune have family in the area so they'd go home and Hanako has no one so she'd stay, but the rest aren't as clear cut.
Lilly probably goes to visit since her parents are rich and the cross suggests she's Christian, but it's still a flight across the planet so maybe she doesn't go every year.
Rin has parents somewhere, but they don't seem close. She might go visit them on holidays but it's hard to say.
Misha never mentions her parents at all, maybe they're supportive and unobtrusive or maybe she got disowned for being a homo. Could be either or anything inbetween
