Remember when Covid declined and media panicked because they ran out of shit to talk about and gain attention? So, being the ruthless assholes they are, they looked for the next potential pandemic to scare the audience with, hoping they'd be the "heroes" to predict and warn the public of the next big thing. Nothing happened. Pandemics constantly threaten mankind, are permanently researched, vaccines are prepared for the craziest shit, and usually noone talks about it - but at the "end" of Covid, they suddenly brought up monkey pox, several rare Covid subtypes and whatever animal plague they could find. When it turned out that someone probably fucked a monkey, it got too embarassing to keep talking about it. Meanwhile all disgusting ass dog owners on social media french kiss their dogs, share their foods with cats and shit like that, and brew the next epic zoonosis. TL;DR fuck people.
