To be fair, WOTC does not have writers capable of making Black not senselessly evil and White not explicitly and brainlessly good. Notions of building up a plane and giving justifiable reasons based on the setting's themes and concepts as to how a color scheme can lead to villainous actions that don't break the color pie are lost on this company.

Every single Phyrexian Praetor was a different sphere of omnicidally evil. If they could, they would have stuck a Black symbol onto all five of them.
