Guns are there for their purpose, to shoot shitters from range. Point, click thing goes dead if aimed well. They have shotguns, grenade launchers, machineguns, handguns, assault rifles, submachine guns, extreme versatility is the name. Make a machingun fire meteors and just laugh like a maniac, or slap hound on and enjoy aimbot.
An all rounder might not have time for a cube or a rifle, but they can always use a handgun, someone else might prefer shotguns to smoke attackers, others run & gun or set up and unload. The choice of the gun is actually an easy combat style selection that allows a person to focus on other more important things, like ruining away from a scorpion wielding psychopath who is flying in their face at mach 3.
Meanwhile Shooters are an art. There are only 2 types, the average and nightmare fuel. The difference is so absurd that the first time you will see a good shooter in action your will say

but is not just the trigger, its the wielder. This shit is so hard that there are only 4(5) good shooters in the border. Shooters are basically a complete and separate class from the gunners because its so stupidly hard to be a good shooter.
