Life is an ongoing chemical reaction in which self-propagating molecules are naturally preferable to non-propagating molecules. It's like a 3.7 billion years old uninterrupted combo chain. I cannot tell you what initiated it or why, but a few things are certain:
>1. It is extremely rare (only happened/didn't get filtered on Earth, see Fermi's paradox)
>2. We already know what the lack of life is like (there are trillions of galaxies in the observable universe, each with trillions of lifeless planets in them, and they're all pretty damn boring)
>3. You are part of it yourself
All of this means that it is your HOLY duty to keep the chain going, no matter what. Struggle, fight to defend it, hold onto it with your teeth until your very last breath. As a member of the most sentient species in the world, there is no greater purpose than that.
