The best we can hope for is that the gods are gone or dead because they're
the most evil cunts around and the last thing you want to do is rush out of the shadows
and into the light where they'll see you. Just keep your head down, work, try to
stay afloat, and it'll work out as best as it can work out.
Killing yourself takes a lot of courage, but as bad as this layer of hell is, you can
probably assume that whatever's next is worse.
