i feel like warhammer suffered/suffers from the same fate as warmachine did, where it can look really good with lots of flavorful terrain and the promotional photos always showed it as such, but that the game system itself reeeeeeaaaaally works against terrain interacting with the figures at all, and so players just default to a couple trees and a house or some bushes or flat terrain. at the end warmachines terrain ultimately just became flat cutouts because it interfered with the game so much and i feel like whfb/tow would go that way too if it werent for the fact that its players are more narrative driven, often to the point of building deliberately worse armies or formations just for the sake of flavor and aesthetics.
