I was getting into it about what Sonic gameplay was all about the other day (MUH MOMENTUM), and someone brought up optimization and exploration. I feel the current point-based ranking system isn't tuned for this. Time is weighted much higher which disincentivizes exploration. It would make sense more sense if you were ranked seperarely for time and rings instead weighing them together via points.
I also feel like objectives could encourage optimization and exploration, but I don't like going too far out of the way: I think having objectives along the route with a minimum requirement makes the most sense.

>Superstars sold 1.81m for FY24
>Sold another 0.6m for FY25 so far
Even just the 2024 numbers alone are great. Why did SEGA say the game underperformed? What the hell was their sales forecast for it? 2 million? For the price and the time frame they were dropping it on, I would have forecasted 1 million. Is SEGA as retarded as Square?
