Gunn is quite the hack. Not something I would’ve said in like 2018 but the fact that he makes the same movie over and over again is a problem. His ah-ha! moment with Superman is figuring out he could in fact retrofit the Superman mythos into his formula. The comic relief animal, the daddy issues, the constant bantering between characters. I dare him to make a legitimately different movie. Is he going to do this for Supergirl, The Brave and Bold, Justice League? How many times before the slop stops?
