Damn, I've never though I would be analyzing the dragon Heart comic. I think what makes it horrifying in the first place is that is in fact meant to be horrible, Sure now a days there is tons of CtF or merging but that often looks tame it isn't draw to create repulsion, the dragon comic does feel like is suppose to be horror, there is also so matter of fact, a girl gets kidnapped by some animal and gets absorbed inside a creature for it to live, there is no sentimentality just the blunt horror of being used and consumed, and the implication of still being alive inside the dragon beating while slowly degenerating into a heart is terrible.
