Because Christians believe that the world is inherently imperfect. Shiites also believe this. Knowing that the flawed world will remain flawed no matter what your actions are has a tempering effect on any movement to build a society around the religion.

Sunnis have no such belief and movements like isis literally believe that they are bringing about paradise on earth if they just try hard enough. The Christian equivalent would be their eschatological support of Israel in order to bring about the rapture, but until Jesus returns the earth will remain imperfect.
