Insane taxation makes it impossible for companies to pay a competitive salary. The brain drain is real, i myself a sw dev, could be making twice as much abroad. I know half a dozen people with PhD's, they're all in France/Germany/Switzerland.
Salaries have been stagnating for 20 years, there is no hope, there is no salvation.
