APKWS had only had a laser guided option until BAE stepped in to develop APKWS II recently which is still wip, whereas LOGIR features a fully fire-and-forget capable IR seeker with LOAL capability which makes it capable of engaging multiple targets at the same time. Basically, it's like a poor man's Brimstone.

A typical 2.75" HEDP warhead can penetrate up to 300mm RHA, which is the same as the M72 LAW. Now apply this to a top attack capable guided rocket.
Btw, the 130mm version can fit up to 20 in the same canister that's used in M270 and K239.
